Art workshops and gallery:
450 sqm, completed 1996, Yemin Ord youth village, for the youth village.
A series of colorful walls, with varying widths and with a flexible outline, stand parallel to each other and perpendicular to the main road of the village, and point to the direction of the view of the Carmel Mountains. Perpendicular to them, white or glazed walls delineate the space, and above it all floats a tiled roof on steel truss construction.
The client ordered the art workshops and alongside them the gallery. I chose to knit the two functions together, and the entire building became a gallery with the art workshops as a part of its display, through movement and views through and towards the colorful walls.
